ADVANCED CARDIOVASCULAR LIFE SUPPORT (ACLS)
This course is available registered medical and dental practitioners (interns, medical officers), professional
nurses, paramedics, clinical associates. It covers recognition and management of cardiac arrest and peri-arrest conditions such as acute coronary syndromes, acute stroke, tachycardias and bradycardias. The course is facilitated via video based lessons, life like simulated case scenarios with skills demonstrations. It is interactive with hands on practice and numerous opportunities for clinical role plays

PAEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (PALS)

This course is available to registered medical practitioners (interns, medical officers), professional nurses, ALS paramedics, clinical associates involved with the care of children. It covers the evaluation and management of an infant or child with respiratory compromise, circulatory compromise or cardiac arrest. The participants are exposed to a systematic approach to the assessment of a seriously ill or injured child, recognition and management of a child in respiratory distress and failure, compensated and hypotensive shock, life threatening bradyarrthythmia, tachycardia or cardiac arrest. Learning is facilitated via video based lessons, multiple life like simulated case scenarios and skills demonstrations. The skills demonstrations include the use of oxygen delivery devices, ventilation and intubation, as well as the appropriate use of electrical therapy (defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion) and IV access techniques including intraosseous and fluid bolus administration. It is an interactive course with participants involvement in case simulation role plays

ACUTE MEDICAL EMERGENCIES (AME)

This course is available to registered medical practitioners (interns, medical officers), professional nurses
involved in the care of adults in the emergency setting. The course covers a broad range of acute medical
problems encountered in the emergency room, critical care setting and inpatient adult wards where acute
decompensation of a chronic illness may occur. It exposes the participants to a systematic approach to acutely ill patient, recognition of an emergency, common presentations in the ER, initial stabilization of the acutely ill patients as well as appropriate referral or transfer for specialised care. Topics covered include respiratory , cardiovascular, haematological, toxicological, gastrointestinal, nephrological, neurological emergencies. Skills demonstrations include, airway management techniques, vascular access, interpretation of xrays, ECGs, blood gases. Learning is facilitated through, power point lectures, case based simulated scenarios

ADVANCED TRAUMA MANAGEMENT (ATM)
This course is available to registered medical practitioners (interns, medical officers) involved in the immediate care and stabilization of the trauma patient. The course covers Trauma assessment and management, including paediatrics trauma, geriatric trauma, trauma in pregnancy. Trauma skills demonstrations include, airway management skills, vascular access skill, spine management skills. The course is facilitated through power point lectures and trauma related case based scenarios
